Half Fold: Each sheet will be folded in half to create 2 panels.

Tri Fold: Each sheet will be folded into thirds to create 3 panels. When folded, the right panel will tuck inside and lay underneath the left panel.

Z Fold: Each sheet will be folded in a ‘zigzag’ or ‘Z’ shape to make 3 panels.

Gate Fold: Each sheet will be folded into thirds to create 3 panels. There will be two narrow panels (outside) and one wide panel (middle).

The two outside panels will be folded inwards to meet the edges of each other on top of the middle panel.

Accordion Fold: Each sheet will be folded in a ‘zigzag shape to make 4 panels.

Double Gate Fold: Each sheet will be folded on each side. There will be two narrow panels (outside) and one wide panel (middle)

creating two side panels that open like doors or gates. Then the sheet is folded in half creating 4 Panels.

Roll Fold: Each sheet will be folded in from the right and then the leftmost panel is folded over the remaining sections.

Roll fold creates 4 or more brochure panels.

Double Parallel Fold: Each sheet will first be folded in half, then folded in half again in the same direction (parallel) to make 4 panels.

French Fold: Each sheet will be folded in half in one direction. Then, it will be folded in half again in the opposite direction creating 4 panels.

This fold is typical when mailing newsletters and flyers.

Right Angle Tri Fold: Each sheet will be folded in half in one direction. Then, it will be folded into thirds in the opposite direction creating 6 panels.

When folded, the right third panel will tuck inside and lay underneath the left third panel.

Score/Crease Only: This process will place an indented ridge into each sheet where the fold will occur.

This reduces the potential for the paper to buckle or crack during the folding process, creating a smooth fold.
