Use the Right Tool for the Project

It makes sense if you are going to hammer a nail you don’t use a screwdriver.  Same thing with graphic designers, if you are designing a newsletter use InDesign, if you are working on digital images use Photoshop and if designing a logo or illustration to the newsletter use Illustrator. All are great tools and it makes sense to learn each one for their strength. I use InDesign for the majority of my work and I am guilty of using it for illustration because I am comfortable with it. But I find myself many steps ahead when I take the time to switch tools and yes it might take me a little longer to do the project because I am not as strong with the tools, but in the long run it will be a win, win. Educating yourself along the way is very beneficial as a designer.
